The Sandbar sold-out the other night but that didn’t deter Harry. Like any honorable booze-hound, he went looking for an alternative entrance. Perched on a window-sill 15 ft up and inches away from the filthy sweat-pit, he pauses for a moment to take in the view. If any of you have been fortunate enough to visit the fine Praa Sands establishment, you’ll appreciate what a monumental feat of alcohol-induced agility climbing up to this window ledge really is. We applaud you Sir.
You can improve your climbing skills by getting a Thor Tee here…
Having become a bit of a superstar on the international DJ circuit these days, ‘Boy 8-Bit’ (aka Dave Morris) has gone a long way since the days of warming up for Bugga with Ry at the Bosuns in Penzance. And last weekend he took his career a step further when accepting Pete Tong’s invitation to do Radio 1’s Essential Mix, and in Tong’s words did “a cracking job of it”. A proper Cornish boy done good. Well done Morris! We very much look forward to having Boy 8-Bit play at Love Riot again soon.
Boy 8-Bit at Love Riot in Truro last August, proudly donning a Slut THOR Tee.
Our good friend Kirstin Prisk has recently taken up DJing, and when asked why he just sent over this clip, citing this guy as his main inspiration. It all made complete sense then. The guy’s amazing. We might try and book him to play at Love Riot sometime, hopefully he could even bring the fat woman too. No doubt his diary will be pretty full though, so we’ll keep you posted on that.
Here’s a little post on Grum we found on NME’s blog. It’s got some links to a couple of pretty cool free mixes too.

I miss Mylo. What ever happened to that wee scamp? You can’t underestimate what he did, albeit briefly. But that lad ignited a dancefloor taper that very quickly scorched through the boutique dance geek dives, into the 3k capacity suburban superclubs in a matter of milliseconds, entering the ether at full force and helping sculpt the very fabric of today’s commercial dance ’scene’, if you want to call it that.
GRUM is another wee gadgie cut very much from the same tartan. We’ve blogged about him before, and he seems to be doing awfully well at working his name up bigtime bills left, right and centre at the moment. In the same way that Mylo forged a sheeny blur of disco, electro, house and techno, all rolled into one pile of dislocated hips, GRUM’s doing his bit to keep things heady. Hence why the Glasgow Underground imprint -started by the same fella that started Mylo’s Breastfed label – have signed him up and are putting out his debut long-player very soon.

He may be an underwear model extraordinaire, but Helston boy Alex Wake’s talents clearly don’t stop at posing in Cornish back lanes whilst trying to get a ride. When he’s not breaking the hearts of West Cornwall’s female population, Alex is also a pretty good surfer, and managed to bag this shot while in Hawaii this winter. We’ve got some pretty entertaining updates for you about Alex’s underwear modeling career too which we’ll post here very soon. We can’t say much at the moment, but we assure you it’s damn good. In the meantime, if you fancy looking as cool as Alex you can grab yourself a pair of Slut’s CIRCUS BOXERS here.
We just came across this little beauty on soundcloud. It’s packed full of dancefloor nuggets, including plenty of Grum’s much sought after own productions. Whether it’s legal or not we don;t know, bit one thing’s for sure, it’s bloody good! Don’t take our word for it though, download yourself a copy and see for yourself. Enjoy.
Fenech Soler’s new single ‘Stop and Stare’ was released today and we’ve just found out that it was Huw Stephens Record Of The Week! Not only that, the lovely Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw chose Stop and Stare as their Weekend Anthem. Roll on May 30th when they make their Love Riot debut!
Here’s what Huw said about the guys on Tuesday’s show:
And here’s Annie and Nick telling Edith Bowman about Fenech-Soler:
